Self-assembly and installation
Although this device is not a factory RNS radio, this car radio was specifically designed by Cartronix for various Volkswagen, Skoda, and Seat car models. It is the perfect replacement for the car radio installed as standard at the factory. Installing the Cartronix CTX-118528SE is simple. For most users, it is a matter of plug-and-play.

If you own a Volkswagen, Seat, or Skoda manufactured before 2011, additional steps are required during installation to prevent the car radio from draining your battery. In that case, we advise you to consult an installation specialist or our installation partner Cartop Automotive, as they can carry out the installation professionally.

If you have a car manufactured from 2011 onwards, the installation is plug-and-play.

Additional cable required for cars from model year 2014: CTX-3401
For cars from model year 2014 onwards, an additional cable is required for the installation of this car radio, namely the MIB connector.This connector is required to ensure compatibility with the car's original functions. The MIB connector ensures that the new car radio can communicate correctly with the modern systems of these vehicles, including steering wheel controls and other integrated functions. Therefore, check when purchasing whether your car falls under this category and ensure you have the correct cable for a flawless installation.

Original accessories and options
If your car has a reversing camera originally supplied by the dealer, please note that it cannot be connected plug-and-play. To connect the camera, you will need an adapter that connects the original camera to an RCA connector. If your car has a CD changer, you will no longer be able to use it after removing the original radio. It is therefore advisable to remove the CDs from the changer before removing the radio.
