Navigation maps

You can download free navigation software through the Play Store app. The advantage is that you always have the latest maps. You no longer have to pay for updates. We've had good experiences with offline maps; they work without an internet connection, allowing you to continue navigating offline. You can also choose Google Maps, which does require a Wi-Fi connection.

If your car is equipped with an original reversing camera, you'll need the CTX-3408 camera decoder to make the camera visible on a new radio. When installing a new radio in your Volkswagen from 2013 onwards, you'll need the following cable: CTX-3401.

Please note: this car radio with navigation does not have a CD player, which is why the device has been designed to be extra slim. This makes it even easier to install the radio, and there's still plenty of room behind the radio for cables.

Installation and mounting

If you have a Volkswagen, Seat, or Skoda manufactured before 2011, you'll need to perform additional steps during installation. This will prevent the car radio from draining your battery. In that case, we recommend consulting an installation specialist or our installation partner, Cartop Automotive, who can perform the installation professionally.

If you have a car manufactured after 2011, the installation is plug-and-play.

Additional cable required for cars manufactured from 2014 onwards: CTX-3401
For cars manufactured from 2014 onwards, installing this car radio requires an additional cable, the MIB connector. This connector is necessary to ensure compatibility with the car's original functions. The MIB connector ensures that the new car radio can communicate correctly with the modern systems of these vehicles, including steering wheel controls and other integrated features. Therefore, when purchasing a radio, check whether your car falls into this category and ensure you have the correct cable for a smooth installation.

Original accessories and options
If your car has a dealer-supplied rearview camera, be aware that it's not plug-and-play. To connect the camera, you'll need an adapter that connects the original camera to an RCA connector. If your car has a CD changer, you won't be able to use it after removing the original radio. Therefore, it's advisable to remove the CDs from the changer before removing the radio.
